[ boy howdy!

temenos is coming to see the memorial, today, too - he's got an armful of small white flowers laying in the crook of his arm. when he hears ponta speak up, he tilts his head, and it takes him a moment to say anything. ]

... So it seems. [ his expression is very gentle, brows knit together, but there's a small frown on his mouth, nonetheless. ]

Supposed to? Perhaps.

[ how many graves and memorials has temenos stood before, just like this? how similar, how cruel does it feel? ]

Whether it does or not is a different story. [ and though he is as ever calm and placid when he speaks, there's a very clear answer there - it doesn't. ] And one that is no one's to decide but the people who remember her.

Mm. You're right.

[ his feelings are about the same. much like he was during the execution, temenos is, in his heart, a cleric, and it's the most obvious in moments like these: he's calm and placid, an open surface for someone to reflect upon. ]

Yet, in the narrative of this place we've found ourselves in, they'll claim it anyhow.

[ i'm going to fight dw for hiding this from me my SWEET PONTA

he is an old millenial but the sentiment is not lost. there's a crook of a slight smile, even in the face of this bitterness - it's familiar. ]

Some things are consistent, no matter the world, it seems. Power demands silence and cooperation, and truths are so often smothered in order to maintain it. [ so. yeah. he gets it. temenos reaches over, and after a second, sets his flowers down carefully in front of the memorial. ]

In a sense: perhaps that makes you more prepared to continue to push back against it. Does it not?
